Alfred Hitchcock
One of the most famous thriller directors is Alfred Hitchcock (13 August 1899 - 29 April 1980), he was an english director and producer. He was most famous for his techniques in the suspense and psychological thriller genres.Hitchcock was higlycredited for his use of cinematic devices such as suspence, the audience as voyeur, and his well-known "MacGuffin," a plot device that is essential to the characters on the screen, but is irrelevant to the audience.
Alot of the characters that Hitchcock created in his movies had similar qualities, for example there was characters that struggled with their mothers (such as North to Northwest (1959) and The Birds (1963)). Another recuring character theme was that the heroines in the moves tended to be lovely, cool blondes that seem proper at first but, when aroused by passion or danger, respond in a more sensual, animal way. (examples of these include The 39 Steps and To Catch a Theif)
He was a multiple nominee and winner of a number of prestigious awards, receiving two Golden Globes, eight Laurel Awards and five lifetime achievement awards, as well as being five times nominated for, albeit never winning, an Academy Award as Best Director. His film Rebecca (nominated for 11 Oscars) won the Academy Award for Best Picture of 1940—particularly notable as another Hitchcock film, Foreign Correspondent, was also nominated that same year.

John Huston
John Huston (August 5, 1906 – August 28, 1987) was an American film director, screen writer and actor. He wrote the screenplays for most of the 37 feature films he directed, many of which are today considered classics: The Maltese Falcon (1941), The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948), Key Largo (1948), The Asphalt Jungle (1950), The African Queen (1951), Moulin Rouge (1952), The Misfits (1961), and The Man Who Would Be King (1975). During his 46-year career, Huston received 15 Oscar nominations, won twice, and directed both his father, Walter Huston, and daughter, Anjelica Huston, to Oscar wins in different films.James Goodwin described that in virtually all of his films, there is some type of "heroic quest — even if it involves questionable motives or destructive alliances". In addition, the quest "is preferable to the spiritless, amoral routines of life". As a result, his best films, according to Flint, "have lean, fast-paced scripts and vibrant plots and characterizations, and many of them deal ironically with vanity, avarice and unfulfilled quests"
Another key theme in John Hustons films was the element of religion. He also had a fascination with 'underdogs and losers' These were also key features in this movies.
